June 21, 2002:  Gulfport, Fla. - The Stetson Lawyers Association recognized five alumni with service awards and named new officers at its annual meeting on June 20 in Boca Raton, Fla.

Rhea Law '79 received the Ben Willard Award for humanitarian achievements that benefit citizens of Florida. Law is the president of Fowler, White, Boggs & Banker law firm in Tampa.

Judge Raphael Steinhardt '63 received the Distinguished Alumnus Award for outstanding service to the legal profession and humanity. Judge Steinhardt serves the Dade County Court for the 11th Judicial Circuit in Miami.

Cary Singletary '73 received the Paul M. May Meritorious Service Award for continuous support of time and gifts to the College of Law. Singletary is a sole practitioner in Tampa.

James Thaler Jr. '00 received the Outstanding Alumni Representative Award for encouraging alumni involvement in local district activities. Thaler is a sole practitioner in Largo and is a consultant for the College of Law.


Pamela Campbell

Pamela A.M. Campbell '89 was recognized with the President's Award for her year-long service as president of the Stetson Lawyers Association. Campbell is a sole practitioner in St. Petersburg.

The Stetson Lawyers Association elected its 2002-2003 officers, which included:

  • President: Carolyn DuPree Hill '92, Clearwater
  • President-elect: Robert J. Sniffen '93, Tallahassee
  • 1st Vice President, Kenneth G. Turkel '90, Tampa
  • 2nd Vice President, Paul A. Turk '79, West Palm Beach

The Stetson Lawyers Association serves as the alumni association for the more than 6,300 graduates of Stetson University College of Law. Stetson Law alumni live in 46 states and 13 countries.
