The following sites provide excellent subject listings of legal resources on the Internet:

FindLaw Subject Index (wide variety of topics, categorized -- again, scroll down to see them!)
The Legal Information Institute (Cornell) (contains terrific guides that not only provide links to web sites, but also give a good textual overview of each subject)
Hieros Gamos (good source for finding international sites dealing with the topics)

Subject listings of law on the Internet are mostly for secondary legal materials, though primary materials are usually included where applicable.

By checking subject listings such as these, the user might find sources that have already compiled useful information on the particular subject the user is researching; specific online journals or mailing lists on that topic; and possibly even some practice guides or good background sources that might otherwise be difficult to find.
