Stetson University College of Law invites U.S. and foreign law professors and scholars to apply for Stetson's "Visiting Scholars Program."

Stetson will select distinguished scholars to visit its beautiful campuses in Gulfport/St. Petersburg or Tampa for a few days, weeks, or months. Participating scholars will benefit from Stetson's state-of-the-art facilities, intellectual climate, and hospitality. Stetson is an ideal place to think, develop and refine ideas, test theses, and cultivate new colleagues.

Benefits to the Visitor
  • Use of office facilities and secretarial support, state-of-the-art law library, computer access, and recreational facilities
  • On-campus suite or apartment (Gulfport campus, based on availability)
  • Stipend for visitors who teach a limited-enrollment seminar during their visit
  • A collegial group of teachers and scholars with whom to discuss ideas
  • Tuition waiver for Stetson-sponsored continuing legal education?programs
  • Campuses located in tranquil beach community of Gulfport and the major metropolitan area of Tampa

The cover letter should include the following information:
  • Dates you are interested in visiting Stetson University College of Law
  • Nature of the research that you will be conducting while visiting
  • Whether you are willing to teach a limited-enrollment seminar and/or present a work-in-progress presentation to the faculty, along with a description of the seminar or the work-in-progress
Although we will consider applications on a rolling basis, we prefer to receive applications before the following dates:

Summer: March 1
Fall: April 15
Spring: November 1
