Professor Liesa L. Richter graduated first in her class from the University of Florida Fredric G. Levin College of Law in 1995. During her law school tenure, Professor Richter served as the senior notes and comments editor for the Florida Law Review and was selected for Order of the Coif. Following graduation, she practiced with the commercial litigation team at King & Spalding in Atlanta, Ga., where she specialized in class action work in federal and state securities litigation and product liability suits.

After serving as a law clerk on the district court for the Northern District of Georgia for two years, Professor Richter served as a law clerk for the Honorable Frank Mays Hull on the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals. Professor Richter joined the faculty at the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 2001 and was named Thomas P. Hester Presidential Professor of Law in 2010.

Professor Richter has taught Evidence, Torts, Advanced Torts, and Corporations. Her scholarship focuses primarily on federal evidentiary issues and she has published articles in leading journals on issues relating to attorney/client privilege. Professor Richter served as the Associate Dean for Admissions, Scholarships and Recruiting for the University of Oklahoma College of Law from 2008-2010 and is a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association’s Evidence Rules Committee and the Georgia Bar.
