Professor Reilly majored in Journalism, Education, and Philosophy during his undergraduate studies.  He was the director of the Criminal Justice Program at the St. Petersburg Campus of the University of South Florida from 1975 to 1989, where he was named Professor Emeritus.  At Stetson, he teaches Remedies, Constitutional Criminal Procedure, and a seminar on Comparative Legal Systems.  He has been a visiting professor at Sophia University in Tokyo and at the Florida State Study Center in London.  He has participated in study-travel in England, Ireland, Austria, Italy, Greece, Russia, Mexico, Japan, China, Taiwan, and Ethiopia.  He is a member of The Florida Bar and the Bar of the United States Supreme Court, and co-author with Professor Marks of a university text on Criminal Procedure.
