Professor Kaplin joins the Stetson faculty as a Visiting Professor of Law from Catholic University of America. He teaches and writes in the areas of education law and constitutional law. He has authored eight books, including American Constitutional Law: An Overview, Analysis and Integration and The Law of Higher Education: A Comprehensive Guide to Legal Implications of Administrative Decision Making.
Professor Kaplin is the past chair of the Education Law Section of the Association of American Law Schools, former editor of the Journal of College and University Law, and a former member of the Education Appeal Board of the U.S. Department of Education. Selected as a fellow of the National Association of College and University Attorneys, Professor Kaplin has received the American Council on Education Borden Award, Association of Student Judicial Affairs D. Parker Young Award, and the 20th Anniversary Scholarship Award by the Annual National Conference on Law and Higher Education. He has also visited at Cornell University, Wake Forest University, George Washington University Institute for Educational Leadership and the University of Houston.
