Welcome to the Office of Career Development. Our mission is to teach you career planning skills. We want to ensure that you are equipped with the tools for legal career exploration and the job search techniques you will need to find and secure the jobs that best match your interests, skills, abilities and values. Because you will most likely change jobs several times during your legal career, it is important to teach you effective career planning skills that you can use not only to find your first legal job but that will help inform your career development throughout the rest of your life.
Our office hours are Monday–Thursday 8:30am–6pm and Fridays from 8:30am–5pm. If you need to set up an appointment to meet with one of the counselors please stop by the office or send an E-mail to Jennifer Horton (hortonj@law.stetson.edu) or Stacy Elizondo (elizondo@law.stetson.edu) with times and days you are available to meet. Meet the Director and Staff
Cathy Fitch
Director of Career Development

Cathy took the position as Director of Career Development at the College of Law in August 1997. She oversees and participates in every aspect of the office including Career Development, student and graduate counseling, management of staff and budgeting. Prior to joining Stetson, Cathy was with the Career Development Office at Georgetown University. She also received her A.B. degree from Georgetown.
Sonja Hayes
Associate Director of Career Development

Sonja began her position with the College of Law in August 2007. She assists the Director with the administration of the office and provides individual counseling for students and alumni. Sonja received her J.D. from Western New England College School of Law and her B.A. from the University of Vermont.
Jennifer Horton
Assistant Director of Career Development

Jennifer has been with the College of Law since April 1997. She worked with the Assistant Dean's Office for two years and then moved to the Office of Career Development in 1999. Jennifer is responsible for the day-to-day management of the office and serves as the Director's assistant. She handles the on-campus interviewing program, the job fair duties, the Career Development programs, and setting up appointments for the Director. She assists the staff members with all aspects of their responsibilities.
Stacy Elizondo
Administrative Specialist

Stacy has been with the College of Law since October 2001. She formerly worked with the Assistant Dean before joining the Office of Career Development in May 2003. Stacy is responsible for the budget, promotional ordering, posting job listings, and reciprocity requests with other law schools. She assists with on-campus interviewing and provides assistance to students, graduates and employers.
